Product, Care & Safety Information:
It is not impossible for a pet to slip out of any collar or harness. When using any type of restraint system, you should often verify the collar or harness is adjusted to the proper fit. Even if a collar or harness is being used properly, it may still be possible for your pet to slip free. Training your pet to walk nicely on a leash is the best way to insure their safety.
Ribbon Over Nylon Collars & Leads:
Like our other collars, these are made with side release buckles and nylon wide mouth slip locks. Nickel plated D-rings are used on all collars and zinc plated snap hooks are used on all leashes. Decorative ribbons are sewn to a high quality, high strength nylon webbing. Ribbons used are the same found in many of Haley's Bows. Just about any grosgrain print found on our site can be used to make a custom collar or lead. Although we use high quality materials, these decorative ribbons are not meant to withstand an excessive amount of scratching or rough play. The shiny prints can snag, and over time the dots can fade. This only pertains to the ribbon, and does not effect the safety of the collar or leash in any way.
If your pet decides to give your leash a chew test, as with all nylon leads, it will fail the test! If you find that your pet has chewed the leash, and you see some fibers are frayed, there is a simple solution to repair the nylon. Get yourself a lighter, and quickly and carefully run the frayed edge next to the flame. This will melt the frayed edge. We use a similar heat sealing technique to seal the ends prior to sewing the collars & leads. If your leash has more than just a few frayed strands, it may be best to just replace it. Remember safety 1st! Use this repair technique at your own risk.

Cat Collars:
Cat collars are made different than our dog collars. They come with a tiny bell, and are made with a "break away" clasp. This clasp is used for safety. If your cat's collar were to get caught on something, the collar will release, rather than staying locked and possibly injuring your cat. For this reason, cat collars are not to be used with a leash.

Care Instructions:
Hand wash in cool to warm water, no bleach. Lay flat to dry. Haley does machine wash & dry her pet's ribbon over nylon collars in a garment bag, on the gentle cycle. So if hand washing doesn't get it clean enough, you can try the machine. Although Haley has had no problems machine washing & drying, there is no guarantee as to how it will work for you.

Print Size & Placement vs. Collar width:
Most of our prints are only available in one size. Meaning if the collar has a butterfly print on it, that butterfly will be the same size no matter the width of the collar. This need only be considered when ordering the narrow width collars (1/2 & 3/8"). While we will do our very best to insure the best possible, most visible print placement; when ordering these narrow sizes, please expect that some of the print may be cut off. If this is a concern, consider ordering a custom size so that you may have a wider width, with the proper length, for your pet.
It is each individual's responsibility to determine the suitability of our products for their pet. Bows by Haley, or our partners cannot be held responsible for any injury that may occur while using our products.
